J. Cole – Lost Ones (Music Video)

J. Cole - Lost Ones

Hey Folks!

Surprisingly, this is the first J. Cole track I’ve posted, and that’s pretty strange considering how much of a fan I am of his content.

J. Cole definitely brings to light the real life situations that many of us deal with (whether male or female) from a different perspective.

This is the major reason he has gathered such a cult like following with his mixtapes…and it is exemplified through this track here, “Lost Ones.”

Cole discusses the complexities of young adults dealing with abortions. A far too often topic among us.

He amazingly crafts this song bringing about just about every perspective and point of view in a rather smooth fashion!

The lyrics of this track a very much worth reviewing, as Cole always manages to effectively express emotion in his flow.

A rather unique track this day in age to release as a single, Cole brings us a music video shot from the perspectives he actually spits from. Making this whole track even more of a work of art.

J. Cole – Lost Ones (Music Video)

Here are the lyrics:

J. Cole – Lost Ones (Lyrics)

[Verse 1]
Baby girl, I can’t imagine what it’s like for you
I got you pregnant now inside there is a life in you
I know you wonderin’ if this gon make me think bout wifing you
Like if you had my first child would I spend my whole life with you
Now I aint tryna pick a fight with you, I’m tryna talk
Now I aint tryna spend the night with you
I’m kinda lost see
I’ve been giving it some thought lately and frankly
I’m feelin’ like we aint ready and it’s… hold up now
Let me finish
Think about it baby me and you we still kids ourself
How we gon raise a kid by ourself?
Handle biz by ourself
A nigga barely over 20, where the hell we gon live?
Where am I gon get that money
I refuse to bring my boy or my girl in this world
When I aint got shit to give ‘em
And I’m not with them niggas who be knocking girls up and skate out
Girl, you gotta think bout how the options weigh out
Whats the way out?

And I aint too proud to tell ya that I cry sometimes
I cry sometimes about it
And girl I know it hurt but if this world was perfect
then we could make it work but I doubt it
And I aint too proud to tell ya that I cry sometimes
I cry sometimes about it
And girl I know it hurt but if this world was perfect
then we could make it work but I doubt it

[Verse 2]
She said nigga you got nerve
To come up to me talkin’ bout abortion
This my body nigga so don’t think you finna force shit
See I knew that this is how you act, so typical
Said you love me, oh, but now you flipping like reciprocals
It figures though, should’ve known that you was just another nigga
No different from them other niggas
Who be claiming that they love you just to get up in them draws
Knowing all the right things to say
I let you hit it raw mothafucker
Now I’m pregnant you don’t wanna get involved muthafucker
Tryna take away a life, is you God mothafucker?
I don’t think so
This a new life up in my stomach
Regardless if I’m your wife
This new life here I’mma love it
I’m aint budging, I’ll do this by my muthafucking self
See my momma raised me without no muthafucking help from a man
But I still don’t understand how you could say that
Did you forget all those conversations that we had way back
Bout your father and you told me that you hate nigga
Talkin’ bout he a coward and you so glad that you aint that nigga
Cause he left your mamma when she had you and he aint shit
Here you go doin’ the same shit
You aint shit nigga!

And I aint too proud to tell ya that I cry sometimes
I cry sometimes about it
And boy that shit hurt
And aint nobody perfect, still we can make it work but you doubt it
Now, I aint too proud to tell ya that I cry sometimes
I cry sometimes about it
And boy that shit hurt
And aint nobody perfect, still we can make it work but you doubt it

[Verse 3]
They say everything happens for a reason
And people change like the seasons
They grow apart she wanted him to show his heart and say he loved her
He spoke the magic words and on the same day he fucked her
Now she wide open
She put a ring up on his finger if she could
But he loved her cause the pussy good
But she aint no wife though
Uh oh, she tellin’ him she missed her period like typo’s
He panicking, froze up like a mannikin
A life grows inside her now he asking “is it even mine”
What if this bitch aint even pregnant dawg
Could she be lying?
She crying crying cause he acting distant
Like ever since I told you this nigga you acting different
And all his niggas saying man these hoes be trapping niggas
Playing with niggas emotions like they some action figures
Swear they get pregnant for collateral
it’s like extortion, man if that bitch really pregnant
Tell her get an abortion
Uh, but what about your seed nigga?
(What about your seed nigga?)

And I aint too proud to tell ya that I cry sometimes
I cry sometimes about it
And I aint too proud to tell ya that I cry sometimes
I cry sometimes about it

OSYMBEATS.COM Official Launch! (New Online Beat Store)

Hey Folks!

It’s your man OSYM here (Old Soul in a Young Man)[Pronounced AWESOME] .

I typically don’t do this, but you will likely see this a bit more often…because there is a fundamental change in what has been going on.

First off, I would like to give a shout out to my dude EPIK THE DAWN for being such a good mentor whether he was aware of it or not. In this particular situation, he was very much so!

After a talk with my boy EPIK, I decided to launch my official online beat store over at OSYMBEATS.COM.

Its already doing tremendously well in that a joint I did with my boy Hugh Augustine the MC (Searchin’) has jumped from 93 on the charts to 33 in 3 days!!!

Last night was the official launch though, and has already quadrupled my typical amount of spins within only 9 hours. #SwagSwag !

But my job isn’t to toot my own horn here…

I created OSYMBEATS.COM for YOU. This big world of rappers needs beats…nobody really wants to hear that half-ass beat someone attempted to produce for you, or your 10,000th cover of OTIS!!!

The game needs new beats and I’ve been rather selfish being the “producer/rapper”  that I am, but no more….(for the most part!)

Here are some new beats I posted up yesterday/ this morning…

OSYMBEATS – Things to Come (Drake Styled Beat)

Things to Come (Drake Style)

OSYMBEATS – Frail Friends (Tyler the Creator Styled Beat)

(Frail Friends (Tyler the Creator Style)

OSYMBEATS – Summer (Nicki Minaj / Drake Styled Beat)

Summer (Nicki Minaj / Drake Style)

OSYMBEATS – Takeover ( Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, Rick Ross, TI [DIRTY SOUTH STYLED Beat])

Takeover (Lil Wayne Style) [Free Download]

and in case you’re curious, here’s the joint “Searchin” I did with Hugh Augustine the MC!

I hope you all enjoy, and I will be posting more of these as time progresses.

Beats range from $25-$50 for leases, contact me at for exclusives or any type of deals you want to discuss!

Thanks a bunch for the love folks!

King I Divine x LD Henriquez – East 54th EP (Album Review)

King I Divine x LD Henriquez

Hey Folks!

Today I bring you some wonderful vibes from my Panamanian brotha King I Divine!

Working with LD Henriquez, King I Divine has put together a beautifully cohesive trip to cloud 9 via sound waves.

With a very summery feel good vibe to it, East 54th is an ode to Divine’s home state, New York.

Opening with beautiful thought provoking poetry from the UK’s very own LD Henriquez, East 54th is right up the alley of Old Soul in a Young Man Music.

For some more background on East 54th check out the EPK below.

Asher Roth x Chuck Inglish – In the Kitchen (Directed by illRoots)

Asher Roth x Chuck Inglish x illRoots

Hey Folks!

Been quite a while, but we back again…kinda like Asher Roth!

I’m a pretty solid Asher Roth fan as well as the Cool Kids. I got this joint yesterday and really dug the simplicity of the track along with Chuck Inglish’s production.

This makes me a bit nostalgic for the old days of MTV playing music videos of people I never knew, but then again I always feel that.

The track is what you can expect from a good quality Asher; slick rhyme schemes about random shxt! Gotta love it!

The beat Chuck laced him with is that sick as hell bass rap we’ve all come to love…if you’re a fan of that niche that is!

From the first time I heard this I wished Chuck dropped a verse…ah well…shouts out to illroots!

G-Eazy: Kings ft. Jai Paul (Music Video) [Directed by 2MattyB & Dj Cobo]

G-Eazy (@G_Eazy)

Hey Folks,

Fresh off of a rather lengthy tour, G-Eazy brings us a new music video for his single, “Kings”.

Receiving a positive response after his new release, The Outsider, G-Eazy has been continuing to grind out his niche and definitely know what his fan base has been waiting for.

Directed by 2MattyB  & Dj Cobo and edited by G-Eazy himself, the video for “Kings” was shot on the fly during his tour out in Chicago.

Props for the dope beat and a nice quickie!

Hugh Augustine the MC – Fire (Music Video)

hugh augustine

Hugh Augustine the MC (@HughAugustineMC)

Hey Folks,

Hugh Augustine just dropped this outstanding video last night.

The video, shot by DirtyRed12 of KPLtv, its a head on shot of The MC at work.

Produced by Michael Franco, “Fire” is an abrasive onslaught of truth from the perspective of Hugh.

A well crafted video, DirtyRed12 tells the story,

“Once he played “Fire,” I turned the camera on. 4 minutes later – I turned the camera off. This visual is the fruit of that moment, and the first thing I’ve edited in 2011.”

Hugh Augustine the MC is making major waves in the hip hop game after just returning from overseas from his Germany Tour. Be sure to keep an eye out for him and his upcoming project.

Big up to KPLtv!

Verze – The Lyrics

Verze (@Verze)

Hey folks,

You may remember Verze from his joint , Dark Matter Solution (Prod. OriJanus).

The Omaha, Nebraska hip hop man has brought to us the third single from his upcoming project Shadow Light.

“The Lyrics” is a joint about Verze’s opinion of what the game revolves around…the content.

He notes that the lyrics are what really separates MCs from rappers.
